Pond Filters, Fish Pond Filters

Koi ponds and all ponds need filtering to keep the water clean. You will need to buy a filter which is appropriate for the size of your pond. If you purchase a filter that is for a smaller pond, it will not have the capacity necessary to properly filter the water in your pond. There is no problem with a filter that is rated for a pond larger than your own. It will clean just as well, and the smaller pond size will not cause damage to the pond filter.

If your pond is stocked heavily with fish, you will need a stronger filter to properly remove all the fish debri. Also, a pond which receives a lot of leaf fall from overhanging trees would best be treated with a pond skimmer first to reduce the decayed debri that the filter must handle.
